Social Psychology Research

My passion for research is rooted in my commitment to the pursuit of justice and knowledge. Specifically, I am interested in how intersecting marginalized identities influence perceptions of allyship, community and diversity as safety cues and exclusion, danger and hostility as threat cues in the environment. I believe that understanding this question would allow us to design physical environments to signal inclusion and neutrality, rather than stereotype threat or hostility. I want to understand factors that allow dominant groups to claim spaces creating racialized spaces, and cues that could diminish the negative experiences resulting from these spaces.
